Vaughn Schofield, former Saskatchewan lieutenant governor, has died at age 82.
Former Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield has died at age 82 following a brief illness.
Born in Regina in 1943, she served as the province's 21st lieutenant governor from 2012 to 2018.
Schofield was recognized for her dedication to the Canadian Armed Forces, having established the Lieutenant Governor's Military Service Pin and hosted the Support Our Troops Gala.
She also held leadership roles in business, including as president and CEO of the Western Group of Companies.
Flags across the province are flying at half-mast, and tributes have been paid by Premier Scott Moe and current Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
