Quilt shop repurposes pet bags to fund local animal rescues.
From Past to Present Quilt Shop in Belmont County is turning used pet food bags into reusable shoulder bags to raise funds for local animal rescue organizations.
Co-owner Joyce Paglialunga launched the initiative after seeing a social media post about upcycling, aiming to repurpose non-biodegradable bags while supporting animals in need.
The shop collects feed bags from the community, which are washed and handcrafted into bags sold for $15 each, with all proceeds going directly to area animal groups.
The project builds on the family's prior community efforts, including raising over $10,000 during the pandemic for Shriners Hospitals by making masks.
