Canadian couple Bernardo and Homolka convicted for brutal murders of teenage girls in 1980s.
Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, a couple once seen as ideal, were revealed as sadistic serial killers responsible for the brutal murders of teenage girls in Ontario, Canada, during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Known as the "Ken and Barbie Killers," they targeted young women, often attacking them after they got off buses.
Their crimes escalated to include the murder of Homolka's 15-year-old sister, Tammy, as well as the abduction, rape, and murder of 14-year-old Leslie Mahaffy and 15-year-old Kristen French.
Bernardo was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, while Homolka pleaded guilty to manslaughter in exchange for testifying against him, receiving a 12-year sentence.
