Treasury adds Trump and Bessent signatures to $100 bills starting June 2026.
The U.S. Treasury is implementing a historic change to currency design, adding President Donald Trump’s signature to future bills alongside Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s, marking the first time a sitting president’s signature will appear on U.S. money.
Beginning with new $100 bills in June 2026, the change replaces the traditional signature of the Treasury treasurer to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.
While federal law prohibits living portraits on currency, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will oversee the redesign, which faces political opposition and disapproval from 59% of Americans.
