Duke freshman Cameron Boozer has been named the Associated Press men's college basketball Player of the Year, becoming the fifth freshman in history to win the award and the second consecutive Duke player to earn the honor.
The 18-year-old power forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, leading Duke to a 35-3 record and an Elite Eight appearance.
Boozer received 59 of 61 votes from AP voters, finishing ahead of BYU's AJ Dybantsa.
