Court voids NC forest logging plan for failing to protect endangered species.
A federal court in North Carolina has voided a 2024 logging plan for the Nantahala-Pisgah National Forests after ruling that the U.S. Forest Service violated the Endangered Species Act.
The decision, following a lawsuit by environmental groups, found the plan relied on inaccurate data and failed to adequately protect critical habitats for endangered bats and other wildlife.
The federal government must now create a new plan that complies with environmental laws.
