Stephen Lewis, former Canadian diplomat and activist, has died at age 88.

Stephen Lewis, a prominent Canadian politician and activist, has died at 88. He served as Ontario NDP leader, Canada's UN ambassador, and UN envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Lewis was also the father of federal NDP leader Avi Lewis and co-founded the Stephen Lewis Foundation to combat the AIDS crisis in Africa.
