The USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship carrying 3,500 Marines, has entered the U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility in West Asia, bolstering American military presence amid rising tensions. The deployment adds to the U.S. Navy's strength in the region, which already includes two nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. While the USS Gerald R. Ford is out of action for repairs, the USS George H.W. Bush is en route to the area.
