IOPC investigates Suffolk Constabulary over Victoria Hall murder probe after suspect's confession.
A watchdog has requested Suffolk Constabulary investigate its handling of the 1999 murder of 17-year-old Victoria Hall, following a self-referral by the force.
The probe by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) will examine the investigation, evidence disclosure, and public comments after an innocent man was wrongly arrested and acquitted in 2001.
The case gained renewed attention when serial killer Steve Wright admitted to Hall's murder in February 2026.
Wright had previously attempted to abduct another woman, Emily Doherty, but police dismissed her report, fueling questions over whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
