Winnipeg councillor charged with sexual assault and drugging a man after 2025 incident.

Winnipeg city councillor Russ Wyatt, 56, has been charged with sexual assault and administering a noxious substance after an investigation into an alleged incident in December 2025. Police allege the victim, a man met online, was drugged and assaulted. Wyatt was arrested and released on an undertaking. His lawyer states he is innocent. Mayor Scott Gillingham called the allegations serious and urged Wyatt to step away. This is not the first time Wyatt has faced sexual assault allegations, as he was charged in 2018 and later cleared.
