Liberia's Rubber Planters Association honored Indian businessman Upjit Singh Sachdeva, known as "Jeety," for supporting smallholder farmers during a market dispute. While major buyers like Firestone suspended operations over a new $690 per ton government price, Jeety Rubber continued purchasing, helping sustain livelihoods. The company operates a large processing plant and provides interest-free loans to farmers, earning the Liberian name "Kolleh" meaning "a bright and good man."
