A US-based consortium led by tech entrepreneur Kal Somani has reportedly agreed to acquire the Rajasthan Royals IPL franchise for $1.63 billion, the largest sports team sale in history. The deal includes investors Rob Walton and the Hamp family, and is pending BCCI approval, with the transition expected after the 2026 season.
