Israeli forces likely committed a war crime by double-tapping a Gaza ambulance, killing journalist Hind Rajab and others, a new report says.
A new report by Avaaz, based on investigations by Al Jazeera and the Hind Rajab Foundation, provides strong evidence that Israeli forces conducted a double-tap strike on January 29, 2024, killing Palestinian journalist Hind Rajab, her family, and an ambulance crew responding to the initial attack.
The ambulance had received prior clearance from Israel’s COGAT, and satellite and audio evidence show Israeli tanks were present with no sign of combat.
The report argues the attack violated international law and constitutes a war crime, urging the ICC to investigate.
Over 1,500 healthcare workers have been killed in Gaza since October, raising concerns about systematic targeting of medical personnel.
The Israeli military has not responded to the findings.
