A former London police officer admitted forging sick notes to fraudulently claim 200 days of leave, costing £19,000.
Natasha Fountain, 29, a former Metropolitan Police communications officer, admitted fraud by misrepresentation after using forged sick notes to claim around 200 days of leave from November 2022 to May 2024, costing the force approximately £19,000.
She worked from June 2022 until August 2024.
Prosecutors said there were no records of her GP appointments during the claimed illness period, and the notes did not reflect the practice’s address change.
Judge Briony Clarke called the fraud “quite sophisticated,” noting deliberate forgery beyond simple deception.
Fountain, who faced mental health challenges including severe anxiety, was granted unconditional bail and will be sentenced on April 20 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
