Brian Tripp, a fugitive convicted in absentia for kidnapping and gang charges, was arrested in Alabama after fleeing during his 2024 trial.
Brian Tripp, a DeKalb County fugitive who fled during his 2024 kidnapping trial, was arrested in Pritchard, Alabama, after more than two years on the run with help from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
He was convicted in absentia to life plus 65 years for kidnapping and gang charges.
In April 2025, a grand jury indicted him for allegedly helping conceal the death of Anthony Woodland by placing his body in a suitcase and setting it on fire.
Tripp is now in custody in Alabama, awaiting extradition to Georgia.
In a separate case, Preston Banks, 48, was arrested in Stone Mountain on homicide charges from 2018, with narcotics and firearms seized.
