An 18-year-old Wichita man, Dayten Pollard, appeared in court on Friday facing multiple charges after allegedly injuring a Wichita Police detective during an arrest on March 16.
Authorities responded to a 911 call about a stolen light blue Mercedes-Benz C300 left running at a motel on N. Broadway.
A detective located the vehicle and, with patrol support, initiated a traffic stop.
During the arrest, Pollard resisted, causing a serious but non-life-threatening facial injury to the detective, who was hospitalized.
Pollard was taken into custody and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail under a $75,000 bond.
He faces charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement, burglary, and theft.
