The UK National Lottery launches new game after £450M digital upgrade boosted sales and player protections.
The National Lottery is launching a new draw game within weeks after a £450 million digital upgrade completed in January, which migrated 18 million player records and over three billion transactions.
The overhaul, which caused a 24-hour outage, boosted digital sales to £4.1 billion in 2025, a 10% increase, with 12.1 million online players.
Total sales reached £8.1 billion, up 3.5%, and £967 million in taxes were generated.
New player protections include deposit limits, automatic logouts after 60 minutes, cooling-off periods, and reality checks.
Allwyn, which took over the license in 2024, says the modernized system enables more games and increased funding for good causes.
