Oregon’s toll-free brain injury hotline, launched in January 2025, has assisted over 1,900 callers seeking recovery and support services, with call volume rising from 15 to 250 per month.
Operated by CBIRT at the University of Oregon under a federal grant, the program offers personalized referrals, information, and advocacy Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Navigators have spent nearly 3,900 hours supporting callers, averaging one to two hours per call.
Established by Senate Bill 420 (2023), it responds to 38,718 non-fatal and 1,177 fatal brain injuries in Oregon in 2023.
The hotline, 1-833-685-0848, provides free interpreting and TTY services.
