A May 30 concert in Manchester honors Stone Roses bassist Mani, with proceeds going to his twin sons.
A tribute concert honoring late Stone Roses bassist Mani, whose real name was Gary Mounfield and who died in November 2025 from emphysema-related respiratory issues, is set for May 30 at Diecast in Manchester.
Organized by Madchester and GIOGOI with the family’s blessing, the event will feature musicians influenced by or who played with Mani, including Aziz Ibrahim, Simone Butler, Peter Hook & The Kowloons, and others, with a major headliner to be announced.
Artwork by his Stone Roses bandmate John Squire will appear on tickets and promotional materials.
Inspired by a viral performance of “She Bangs the Drums” in São Paulo, all proceeds will support Mani’s twin sons.
The concert follows a high-profile funeral attended by figures like Liam Gallagher and Guy Garvey, highlighting Mani’s enduring legacy in British music.
