India spent over $250 billion on 1,702 major infrastructure projects by late 2025, tracked via a digital monitoring system.
India has spent over Rs 20 lakh crore on 1,702 major infrastructure projects costing Rs 150 crore or more, with a combined original cost of Rs 33.71 lakh crore, according to a Lok Sabha reply.
The projects are monitored via the PAIMANA platform, launched in September 2025, which integrates with the DPIIT’s Integrated Project Monitoring Portal for automated data sharing, reducing manual entry.
About 64% of projects in key sectors are updated automatically, and real-time dashboards help track progress.
Large projects undergo periodic review on the PRAGATI platform and the Project Monitoring Group accelerates approvals.
As of December 2025, PAIMANA had recorded 1,392 projects with a total original cost of Rs 29.68 lakh crore and cumulative expenditure of Rs 19.01 lakh crore.
