India removes 359K unauthorized election ads in West Bengal ahead of April 23-29 polls.

The Election Commission of India has taken down 358,986 illegal political ads in West Bengal before the Assembly elections on April 23 and 29. Of these, 311,829 were on public property. The most removals happened in Cooch Behar and North 24 Parganas. A second list of cases under "logical discrepancy" is about to come out, and security is being improved. Ajay Nand, the police commissioner in Kolkata, said that there would be zero tolerance for booth jamming, rigging, or capturing. To make sure the election goes smoothly, there will be ongoing checkpoints, searches, and joint patrols with Central forces.
