India launches Phase 2 of SWAMIH Fund with $1.8B to finish 100,000 stalled homes.
India has launched Phase 2 of the SWAMIH Fund with a Rs 15,000 crore allocation to complete 1 lakh stalled affordable and mid-income housing units.
The fund, established in 2019, completed Phase 1 by spending Rs 10,037.5 crore and delivering 63,200 homes out of a 1.14 lakh target.
Phase 2 aims to address remaining incomplete projects, particularly those affecting middle-income buyers.
The announcement coincided with the introduction of the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the upcoming Finance Bill for 2026-27.
