The DCGI ordered state and union territory drug controllers to investigate manufacturers and distributors, halt production and sales, and submit urgent action reports, stressing that these drugs violate the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules, 2019.
The move is a top public health priority to ensure drug safety and regulatory compliance.
