An Australian man faces charges for stealing $842 windbreakers from Singapore’s Changi Airport.
A 54-year-old Australian man is set to be charged on March 25 for allegedly stealing two windbreakers worth $842.20 from a retail store in Changi Airport Terminal 1.
Police were alerted on March 17 after the items vanished from a display, and CCTV footage led to his arrest before he could leave Singapore.
The stolen goods were recovered from his possession.
If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, a fine, or both.
Authorities stressed that shop theft is taken seriously and warned that fleeing the country does not avoid legal consequences.
