Uttar Pradesh reduced maternal and infant mortality through expanded healthcare infrastructure and nursing job placements.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a significant drop in Uttar Pradesh’s Maternal and Infant Mortality Rates, attributing the progress to expanded medical infrastructure, increased nursing staff, and new medical colleges, which rose from 40 to 81.
He highlighted 100% job placement for nursing graduates, both domestically and abroad, citing demand in Japan, Germany, and South Korea.
The state is advancing toward “One District, One Medical College” and “One District, One Nursing College” goals, with 9.25 crore people now covered under Universal Health Coverage and 14.28 crore digital health cards issued.
The event, held during Basanti Navratri, included the distribution of appointment letters to 1,228 nursing officers, emphasizing women’s empowerment through healthcare employment.
