Twelve Iowa women Veterans and three in Texas received Quilts of Valor during National Women’s History Month, honoring their military service with handmade tributes.
Twelve women Veterans in Iowa were honored with Quilts of Valor at a ceremony in Marion, joining over 1,000 Iowa Veterans to receive the handmade quilts crafted by the Freedom Stitchers of Iowa.
The event, part of a broader national initiative founded in 2003, celebrated female military service and community support.
In a separate ceremony in Texas, three women Veterans in the Killeen-Fort Hood area also received quilts from Quilters with a Heart during National Women’s History Month, with each recipient expressing deep gratitude and sharing personal stories of service in locations including Iraq, South Korea, and Germany.
The quilts, symbolizing appreciation and emotional healing, were presented alongside certificates, marking a heartfelt tribute to their sacrifices.
