Pakistan warns PSL players facing discipline for joining IPL early.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that players withdrawing from the upcoming PSL to join the IPL will face disciplinary action under existing rules, citing contractual obligations.
This follows recent departures by Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka and Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani, who joined IPL teams, with others like Gudakesh Motie and Jake Fraser-McGurk also leaving, mostly for personal reasons.
The PSL begins March 26, just two days before the IPL, and cannot be postponed due to scheduling constraints.
Naqvi referenced past penalties, including Corbin Bosch’s one-year ban, to stress consistent enforcement.
The tournament will be held behind closed doors in Lahore and Karachi due to an oil crisis in West Asia.
