USC, playing without star JuJu Watkins, relied on Davidson’s all-around effort and Kara Dunn’s 22 points to rally after trailing early in overtime.
Clemson’s Taylor Johnson-Matthews scored 16 points, and Raven Thompson added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
USC will face top-seeded South Carolina in the second round.
