The Blue Jays released pitcher Connor Seabold after a poor spring, optioned rookie Lazaro Estrada to Triple-A, and began the season with Kelly on the injured list.
The Toronto Blue Jays have released veteran pitcher Connor Seabold, making him a free agent after a brief spring training stint with a 6.75 ERA in six appearances.
Seabold, who previously played for the Rockies, Rays, and Braves, had a 7.52 ERA in 2023 and posted a 3.43 ERA in South Korea in 2024.
The team also optioned 26-year-old Cuban-born pitcher Lazaro Estrada to Triple-A Buffalo.
Estrada made his MLB debut in 2025, allowing seven earned runs in 7 1/3 innings across two appearances.
Both moves conclude the Blue Jays’ spring training preparations ahead of their season opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with starting pitcher Kelly beginning on the injured list.
