Andhra Pradesh will launch a major industrial project on March 23, 2026, with the foundation stone-laying for a ₹1.36 lakh crore integrated steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India in Anakapalli district.
The 17.8 million tonne-per-year facility, spanning 5,465 acres, will be developed in two phases and include a ₹11,200 crore captive port.
It is expected to create around 100,000 direct and indirect jobs and become India’s first Green Steel-certified integrated plant.
The state is upgrading infrastructure, including a four-lane road to NH-16, and leaders from the central and state governments, along with industry executives, will attend the event.
