West Bengal sets up 19 tribunals to review voter appeals ahead of April election phases.
The Election Commission has created 19 appellate tribunals in West Bengal to review appeals against voter inclusion or exclusion decisions from the Special Intensive Revision process.
These temporary tribunals, led by former judges, will operate across 24 districts, hearing cases online or in person to resolve disputes before the April 6 and April 9 nomination deadlines for Phases 1 and 2 of the elections.
Their work aims to finalize electoral rolls and ensure eligible voters can participate, with unresolved cases risking ineligibility and potential deportation.
