In response, the center is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and launching a “marina watch” initiative.
The release event, attended by local officials and community members, coincided with the introduction of SB 1286, a bill to designate the California sea lion as the state’s official pinniped, aiming to boost public awareness and protection efforts.
