A non-human bone found in London during a search linked to the 1969 Muriel McKay murder case has not solved the decades-old mystery.
A bone discovered in a garden on Bethnal Green Road in east London during a family-led search has been confirmed by police not to be human.
The find, made on March 5, 2026, followed new leads from Hayley Frais, whose father once ran a tailor shop at the site where Arthur Hosein, one of the convicted killers, had worked.
The search was linked to the 1969 kidnapping and murder of Muriel McKay, a British executive mistakenly targeted in a ransom plot.
Though the bone was not human, authorities are continuing to investigate the site, which has been declared a murder scene.
The case remains unsolved, with McKay’s body never found, despite the 1970 conviction of the Hosein brothers.
The family continues to seek closure.
