The Minnesota Twins released 37-year-old reliever Liam Hendriks after he triggered an opt-out clause in his minor league deal.
The Minnesota Twins released 37-year-old reliever Liam Hendriks on Friday, ending his tenure after he triggered an opt-out clause in his minor league contract.
Hendriks, a three-time All-Star, posted a 6.59 ERA in 14 appearances for the Red Sox in 2024 after missing 2023 due to non-Hodgkin lymphoma treatment and 2024 following Tommy John surgery.
During spring training, he allowed two runs in six innings with four strikeouts and three walks.
The release leaves the Twins’ bullpen uncertain ahead of their 2026 season opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
