Hong Kong’s ICAC uses mainland AI tech to fight corruption, boosting investigations while cautioning against misuse.
Hong Kong's anti-corruption chief Woo Ying-ming said the ICAC is using advanced mainland Chinese technologies, including AI, to boost investigation efficiency, following visits to tech centers and the creation of a special task force.
The agency reported faster progress in anti-corruption efforts, though Woo warned of AI's potential misuse.
Aligning with China's 15th Five-Year Plan, the ICAC continues its enforcement, prevention, and education strategy, supports national security and economic development, and expanded global cooperation through a UN-backed AI training program involving 22 agencies from 16 countries.
