Alberta Fish and Wildlife is investigating the illegal killing of a grizzly bear found west of Claresholm in November 2025, with officials determining it was shot between November 8 and 20.
The bear was discovered northeast of Honey Coulee in the Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zone.
Grizzly bear hunting is banned under Alberta’s Wildlife Act, though lethal removal of so-called "problem" bears has been permitted since June 2024.
