He was sentenced to 13 life terms for a series of violent sexual assaults across Greater Manchester and four other counties in the 1980s, primarily targeting women in their homes after male family members left.
After serving 34 years, he was released in March 2023 but was returned to prison six weeks later due to breaching licence conditions and being deemed an unmanageable risk to the public.
His appeal against recall was denied in July 2024, with the parole board stating he posed a very high risk of reoffending.
Victims expressed relief at his death, citing years of trauma.
