Measles cases in Colorado and North Carolina linked to travelers, prompting health alerts for exposed unvaccinated individuals.
Health officials in Colorado, North Carolina, and other places have said that people who traveled from states where there was an outbreak of measles have gotten it. An unvaccinated adult from Weld County, Colorado, was hospitalized after testing positive for the virus at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies. They have since been released. In North Carolina, people reported exposures at a Wendy's in Greensboro and a golf pro shop in Randolph County. A fever, rash, cough, runny nose, and red eyes are some of the symptoms. Health officials are telling people who weren't vaccinated and went to those places at certain times to watch for symptoms and call a doctor. The MMR vaccine is highly recommended as the best way to avoid getting sick.
