A Lincoln nanny was arrested for allegedly abusing a 22-month-old child, captured on video, and is facing prosecution.
A 41-year-old Lincoln nanny, Suzanne Buhler, was arrested on felony child abuse charges after a landscaper filmed her allegedly pushing, hitting, and slapping a 22-month-old toddler at Markham Ravine Park on March 16.
The child, cared for by Buhler through Care.com, sustained facial injuries but was treated at the ER with no long-term harm.
The video led to Buhler’s arrest and booking into Placer County Jail, where she posted bail.
Lincoln Police confirmed they are pursuing prosecution and investigating whether Buhler provided care to other families.
Care.com said Buhler passed annual background checks but has since been barred from the platform.
The family praised the landscaper as a hero, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
Buhler is scheduled for arraignment on April 27.
