The 2026 Iowa State Fair will launch a new free park-and-ride service from Southridge Mall, replacing the previous site at Southeast Polk High School due to a city agreement change.
DART buses will continue offering rides from downtown Des Moines locations at $3 per person.
Both services will drop off and pick up guests at Gate 10.
A new entrance on University Avenue will improve access from the north, and more parking will be shifted south of Dean Avenue to reduce vehicle-pedestrian conflicts.
These changes aim to enhance safety, reduce congestion, and improve the visitor experience.
The fair runs August 13–23 with the theme “Fair Spirit” in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.
