Gwyn Samuels, a former police volunteer, sentenced to 32 years for raping a 12-year-old and an 18-year-old, exploiting his position to groom victims.
A former Metropolitan Police special constable, now known as Gwyn Samuels, has been sentenced to 32 years in prison—24 years for rape and sexual assaults on a child and eight on extended licence—for crimes committed between 2018 and 2024.
The 28-year-old, previously James Bubb, was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl he groomed online and assaulting her in public, and of raping an 18-year-old woman he met while posing as a minor.
The court heard he exploited his position as a police volunteer to gain trust, with the judge calling the abuse a calculated effort to break his victims’ will.
A lifelong sexual harm prevention order was imposed, and authorities confirmed he remains in a male prison due to risk assessment based on his conduct, not gender identity.
Both victims were praised for their courage.
