Google Messages has launched real-time location sharing in its March 2026 update, allowing users to share live location with contacts for set durations like one hour or "today only," via a green icon in chats.
The feature works on both RCS and non-RCS conversations using Google’s Find Hub, with a time banner and green dot indicator showing active sharing.
It's rolling out gradually across Android devices, including Pixel 8 Pro, though not yet on all phones like the Vivo X300 Pro.
iPhone users will receive a Google Maps link.
