A 2026 German survey reveals widespread racial biases, with majorities believing some races, groups, and cultures are superior or more progressive, and many report ongoing discrimination.
A 2026 survey by Germany’s DeZIM research center found that 36% of Germans believe some human "races" are superior, 48% think certain groups are naturally more hard-working, and 66% view some cultures as more progressive, reflecting widespread racial biases.
The study, based on 8,171 respondents, also revealed that Black and Muslim individuals frequently face discrimination in daily life, including from government institutions.
Despite efforts toward inclusion, the findings highlight persistent racism and distrust in state institutions.
