Delhi High Court orders Newslaundry to remove videos accusing news channels of defamation, citing offensive content.
The Delhi High Court on March 20, 2026, ordered digital media outlet Newslaundry to remove specific videos and posts about TV Today Network, Aaj Tak, and India Today, citing prima facie disparaging remarks, including offensive language like “shit.” The Division Bench of Justices C Hari Shankar and Om Prakash Shukla issued the interim ruling in a case originally filed by TV Today in 2021 over allegations of defamation, copyright infringement, and disparagement.
The court found the content could cause irreparable reputational harm, though it clarified that its remarks during hearings were not final judgments and did not target individual journalists.
Newslaundry had defended the material as protected criticism and satire.
The case remains ongoing.
