A Delhi court has ordered the NIA to file a supplementary chargesheet against Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, by May 2026 in connection with the 2008 Mumbai 26/11 attacks. Rana, extradited from the U.S. in 2025, is accused of helping David Coleman Headley, a Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked conspirator, conduct reconnaissance through a fake immigration consultancy in Mumbai. The NIA has obtained voice samples of Rana and is seeking international cooperation, particularly from the U.S., to strengthen the case. Investigators allege Rana was part of a broader conspiracy dating to 2005 aimed at waging war against India. He faces serious charges including conspiracy, murder, and terrorism under Indian law. A hearing is scheduled for April 24, 2026.
