Owen Sound retiree Beverly Priebe, 70, won $1 million by matching all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order during the Feb. 11 Ontario 49 draw. The winning ticket, purchased at a Shoppers Drug Mart on 10th Street, was bought with the ENCORE add-on, which Priebe has included on his tickets for about five years. After a friend confirmed the winning numbers over the phone, Priebe said the moment was overwhelming and shocking, with the reality taking about a week to sink in. She plans to use the winnings to travel to Newfoundland, buy a new car, and treat former coworkers to a meal. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation confirmed the win, and Priebe claimed the prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
