Bacaro, a Vancouver Michelin-recognized Italian restaurant, has permanently closed due to rising operating costs.
Bacaro, a Michelin-noted Italian restaurant in downtown Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, has permanently closed after opening in 2021.
The restaurant, operated by the Kitchen Table Group, was recognized in the 2025 Michelin Guide as one of 49 recommended dining spots.
Known for its Venetian-style bacaro concept, it featured a modern interior with high-top seating, a standing counter, a 40-tap Enomatic wine system, and private dining areas.
Bacaro shared a farewell message on Instagram: “A thousand thanks for all the love over the years.
Ciao, bella.” Its website and Google listing now reflect permanent closure.
The shutdown is part of a broader trend in Vancouver, with rising costs for ingredients, rent, utilities, and B.C.’s increased minimum wage cited as key challenges.
Other closures include Pizzeria Farina, Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar’s West Broadway site, and Flamingo Chinese Restaurant.
