The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday near Dave Gavitt Way, where authorities say Cueva was speeding, lacked headlights, and failed to signal.
His vehicle struck Regine’s car and caught fire.
Cueva faces charges including driving to endanger resulting in personal injury and reckless driving.
At the time, he was out on bail from a prior domestic incident and now also faces a no-contact order violation charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
