An 11-year-old boy raised £1,600 for the Great North Air Ambulance after surviving a van crash and walking 12 miles to thank them.
An 11-year-old boy from Redcar, Niall Robson, has raised over £1,600 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) after surviving a serious van crash at age nine that caused multiple leg injuries and required 11 reconstructive surgeries.
Transported by GNAAS following the November 2024 incident, he completed a 12-mile walk from the crash site to Saltburn Pier with family to show gratitude.
His school supported the effort, and he later visited GNAAS’s base, meeting the crew who treated him.
GNAAS is now raising £2.5 million for a third helicopter through Operation SOS: Secure Our Service.
