Wisconsin students build tiny home for special education training, funded by grant.
Logan High School students in Janesville, Wisconsin, are building a tiny home as a year-long project in their woodshop class, funded by a $6,000 Gold Star Grant.
Led by teacher Ryan Schreiner, the hands-on initiative teaches carpentry, electrical work, and ADA compliance while fostering teamwork and problem-solving.
Once completed by the 2027–28 school year, the home will serve special education students, helping them develop independent living skills like cleaning, cooking, and organization.
The project aims to bridge classroom learning with real-world applications, benefiting both builders and future users.
